History

Welcome to the Marietta House

In 1830, Jonathon Russell built the original Marietta House to accommodate weary stagecoach travelers along the Skaneateles/Hamilton Turnpike.

In 1935, the original building was destroyed by fire and the owners Don and Ethel Dillon relocated the restaurant to a barn behind the original building.

In 1969, Tom Donovan, the current caretaker, purchased the business from the Dillons. The business remained "Dillons" until 1984, then after many renovations and for the sake of history the name reverted to the Marietta House.

Stagecoaches now come in the form of stretch limousines transporting beautiful wedding parties to the most hospitable reception facility in the area.

Feel free to look over the mature gardens, brick patio and stately gazebo that creates a perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. The Main dining room, majestic and decorated in simple elegance, allows 250 guests to dine comfortably.

The easy relaxed atmosphere created by the untouched hamlet of Marietta radiates withing the Marietta House. Our casual Irish Pub/restaurant, features thick soups, hearty salads and hefty entrees, every Friday and Saturday from 5-10pm. Spending time here you can understand and appreciate what Jonathon Russell did in 1830.

Boasting a décor of simple country charm The Marietta House serves as the perfect wedding or banquet facility. Our majestic gazebo surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds serves as the perfect location for on-site wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and banquets. Offering a variety of menu options including buffet and sit down , one of the areas largest dance floors, and seating for up to 250 people the Marietta House serves as your perfect event venue.

Located on Route 174 in the hamlet of Marietta, the Marietta House is sure to offer a both unique and personal dining experience. Offering a wide selection of fresh salads, sea food, steaks, and homemade deserts our dining room and pub present a warm, inviting atmosphere every Friday and Saturday starting at 5. Located in the Finger Lakes Region just short of Otisco Lake, our exceptional menu and peaceful setting are sure to please.
