Break from your normal Netflix and chill routine this summer and enjoy a movie in Syracuse’s great outdoors! We’re highlighting the best outdoor movie opportunities that the whole family can enjoy. Get your popcorn and drinks ready to cap off your Not Winter evening with a movie under the stars.
Catch more than a sunset on Onondaga Lake this summer with the new Lakeview Amphitheater Moonlight Movie Series. Viewers are encouraged to grab a spot on the lawn this August and watch a flick as they roll out the big screens. Plus, they encourage you to bring outside food and beverage, so bring out a blanket and a cooler! Each week will feature a different theme and offer both a kid-friendly film and one targeted at an older audience. The best part about this movie series is that it’s FREE. Gates open at 7:30 and the first movie will start at 8!

Can you say that you watched a movie in a State Park? Saturdays this summer, Green Lakes State Park turns outdoor movie theatre for a dose of family fun. What better way to watch a kid-friendly film than in nature? Make sure to get there early for a pre-movie campfire and s’mores event at 8! The movies start at 9 pm and admission is $8 per car.

Everson Museum of Art
Sculptures and paintings aren’t the only thing happening at the Everson this summer, you now have the chance to enjoy a movie in the Everson Community Plaza! Watch as the façade of the museum becomes a big screen and enjoy a free movie this summer. Movie nights kick-off with a 7:30 pre-show activity and the film begins at dusk.

For a fun night of family entertainment, pop into the Manlius Amphitheater this summer. Come at 7:15 for a free animal show by the Wild Animal Park and stay for a free movie after. This event will feature a concession stand so load up on popcorn and enjoy a movie under the stars.
