Celebrate the Season: A Festive Activity for Every Day

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Thanksgiving is behind us and the decorating has begun. The holiday season in Syracuse is full of seasonal shows and music, gingerbread making, bright lights and outdoor fun. We've put together a list of activities, one for every day of December, to ensure you don't miss out on any of the seasonal festivities.
We've even provided a downloadable calendar so you don't miss a thing!
November 30 - Everson Museum Festival of Trees, Nov. 30- Dec. 9, museum hours.
December 1 – The Nutcracker by the Syracuse City Ballet at The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater, 1pm & 6pm and The Nutcracker Sugar Plum Social at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, 3pm-5:30pm; Holiday Hops at Destiny USA, two sessions 1pm-4pm & 6pm-9pm.
December 2 - Teddy Bear Tea at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, 1pm - 3pm. Cost includes admission to the Everson Museum Festival of Trees.
December 3 - Art Mart, a pop-up art show currently located at 499 S. Warren St., Nov. 9 - Dec. 24, closed Sundays, check website for specific hours.
December 4 - Shop, Sip & Stroll Skaneateles, in the Village of Skaneateles, 5pm - 8pm
December 5 - A Dinner with Dickens and Friends at Mirbeau Inn & Spa, 6pm - 8pm
December 6 - Redhouse presents A Charlie Brown Christmas, at Redhouse Performing Arts Center, Dec. 6 -16, check for showtimes
December 7 - The Polar Express Pajama Party at The MOST, several dates and times for both the pajama party events and the regular IMAX showings check website for more information
December 8 - Dasher's Magical Gift at the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater, 11AM; Children's Gingerbread Workshop at the Erie Canal Museum, 1pm - 2pm; Syracuse Men's Basketball vs. Georgetown at the Carrier Dome, 3:30pm; Dashin' Through the Bars Crawl, downtown Syracuse, 2pm - 10pm
December 9 - Holidays in the City, multiple locations throughout downtown Syracuse, Dec. 8 - 9. Enjoy holiday crafts, performances, Santa's Reindeer, ice sculpture events and more!; Christmas at the Palace with the DeSantis Orchestra at the Palace Theater, 6pm
December 10 - Holiday on the Farm at Defi Cuisine, 6pm -9pm
December 11 - A Magical Cirque Christmas at the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater, 7:30pm
December 12 - The Sound of Music at the Landmark Theatre, Dec. 11 - 16, multiple showtimes
December 13 - Gingerbread Build and Sip at the Erie Canal Museum, two sessions: 5pm - 6:30pm and 7pm - 8:30pm
December 14 - Symphoria Pops: Magic of the Holidays featuring guest vocalist Nick Ziobro at the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater, Dec. 14 & 15, check website for showtimes
December 15 - Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena, Dec. 13 - 16, various showtimes; Martinis and MIstletoe at the Brasserie Bar and Bistro, 6pm; Christmas from Dublin at the Palace Theater, 7:30pm
December 16 - Breakfast with Santa at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, Dec. 8 - 9, Dec. 15 - 16 & Dec. 22 - 23, two time slots 9am or 11am
December 17 - Syracuse Women's Basketball vs. Niagara at the Carrier Dome, 11am
December 18 - Jim Brickman: A Joyful Christmas at the Oncenter Mulroy Civic Centers Theaters, 7:30pm
December 19 - It's a Wonderful Life at the Landmark Theatre, 7pm
December 20 - Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker at the Oncenter Mulroy Civic Center Theaters, two showings at 4 pm and again at 8pm
December 21 - Winter Solstice Hike at Baltimore Woods, 7pm - 8:30pm
December 22 - Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles, Village of Skaneateles, Noon - 4pm
December 23 - The Polar Express at the Palace Theater, 6pm - 8pm
December 24 - Elf the Musical at Syracuse Stage, 2pm; this event runs from Nov. 29 - Jan. 6 with multiple showtimes
December 25 - Lights on the Lake at Onondaga Lake Park, 5pm - 10pm; this event runs nightly from Nov. 15 - Jan 6
December 26 - Holiday Zoo Camp at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, 9am - 4pm, ages 6-11, runs from Dec. 26 - 28
December 27 - Trail Tales at Beaver Lake Nature Center, 1pm
December 28 - Horse-drawn Sleighrides at Highland Forest, 11am - 3:30pm, runs Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 15 - Feb. 24
December 29 - Dinomania Exhibit Tour at the Museum of Science and Technology, 2:30pm
December 30 - Ice Skating at Clinton Square, 10am - 8pm on Sundays, open daily through March check website for hours
