Let our newest area restaurants WOW you! From classic Italian to poutine and craft beverages as well as a dining experience focusing on the kitchen itself, the Syracuse area is your place for some of the latest and greatest culinary spots. Check out some of our favorite recently opened restaurants:
Defi Cuisine Corp.
Located right in the heart of Downtown Syracuse, across from the Clinton Square area, Defi’s kitchen is located in the center of the dining room, allowing diners to watch the creation of their custom-made fare. Dine in or take out, and don’t miss out on Defi’s tasting and pairing events held on Mondays and Tuesdays!
The Hops Spot
August 2018 brought the opening of one of Armory Square’s newest restaurants – The Hops Spot! Famous for its burgers and poutine, The Hops Spot also features a 42-tap craft beer bar.
XO Taco
The partners of downtown Syracuse’s hottest lunch spot, Original Grain, are ready to wow with their newest venture – XO Taco. Described as a punk-rock taco bar, XO features hand-made tortillas, a full bar with funky cocktails, and an eclectic atmosphere.
A Mano
Downtown Syracuse’s newest Italian restaurant opened this summer. The restaurant’s name, meaning “by hand” in Italian, is representative of the menu’s handmade food options, primarily the pastrami and pasta.
Storming Crab
Seafood lovers are flocking to the newly opened Storming Crab, where seafood boils are sold by the bucket. Diners are encouraged to eat directly off of the butcher paper (sans-plate), and even to sign the walls. Find Storming Crab just outside downtown, on Syracuse's east side. The restaurant has three other locations in the U.S. – two in Tennessee and one in Indiana.
The Preserve at 405
The opening of The Preserve at 405 brings the Onondaga Creekwalk its first restaurant option, and stretches the downtown dining scene into the newly renovated Inner Harbor. Offering more than 60 craft beverages including both beer and wine, The Preserve also serves classic bar fare, fresh ground burgers and soups and salads. Grab some friends and head down for a beer, a burger and a seat on their patio!
