The holidays might be over but there’s another school break right around the corner! Looking for somewhere to send the kiddos during break week? On the hunt for something to do together with the family that week? We’ve got options galore for you and your family this upcoming winter break in Syracuse, NY.

Winter Break Camps:

Keep your young ones active with a camp that gets them on the move! Check out Central Rock Gym for some rock climbing, CNY Gym Center for gymnastics-based programs or the Warrior Factory for some high-flying action at ninja camp.

For a more educational themed camp head to the Everson Museum for art camp and daily museum-inspired projects or register for the Museum of Science and Technology for a sensory science and hands-on STEM camp. Break classes at Syracuse Children’s Theatre will help your child grow their musical and acting skills with students performing Annie Kids for February break.

The nature-loving child will enjoy camp week at Beaver Lake Nature Center, with snowshoeing (weather permitting), identifying animal tracks and more! Enjoy nature and some animal friends? Head to Rosamond Gifford Zoo for Zoo Camp! Explore the animal world through hands-on science, art, technology and engineering projects. Participants can register for one day or the whole week.

Family Fun:

While families are more than welcome to visit the Everson Museum, Beaver Lake or the Zoo during regular business hours there’s even more to do during winter break! The M.O.S.T. also opens daily during break week from 9:30am – 5pm.

We love all four- seasons in the Syracuse region so spend some time outside this winter break! Head to Four Seasons Golf & Ski Center for some fun family snowtubing and cross-country skiing. The Center also has great hills for beginner skiers and snowboarders. For the higher-level outdoor enthusiasts head to Song or Labrador Mountains, with over 20 trails combined, including 17 lighted trails for night skiing at Labrador.  A bit further south is Greek Peak Mountain, offering snowtubing, ski hills, year-round ziplines, a mountain coaster, and even an indoor waterpark for those looking to get out of the snow.

For something a bit more low-key and outdoors, head to Highland Forest for miles of trails open to winter hikes, snowshoeing (they offer rentals!) and even sleighrides. Snap the perfect pic while you ice skate at the downtown Syracuse outdoor ice rink, in Clinton Square, or head to one of the indoor rinks at Sunnycrest or Shove Parks for public skate sessions.

Spend some time inside during break at Destiny USA’s Winter Break Bash on Tuesday, February 18th. Or just spend some time at one of the many family-friendly destinations inside the center like APEX, Dave & Buster’s, Wonderworks, Little Ray’s and more!

Catch a game over break. Both the men’s and women’s Syracuse University basketball teams have home games during break. The women host North Carolina on Thursday evening while the men host the Tar Heels Saturday the 15th. Meanwhile, the ranked men’s lacrosse team hosts Harvard the following Saturday, February 22nd. The Syracuse Crunch are also home the weekend of February 21st, taking on the Toronto Marlies on Friday, followed by Laval Rocket on Saturday.
