As June approaches, Syracuse, NY is gearing up to celebrate Pride Month with a host of events that will bring the LGBTQ+ community and its allies together. This year's events promise to be bigger and better than ever before, with a range of activities that will appeal to people of all ages and interests. From parades and marches to concerts and art shows, there's something for everyone to enjoy. 

In this article, we'll take a closer look at the exciting Pride events happening in Syracuse this June and explore the ways in which they are helping to promote equality, acceptance, and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community in the region.

Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

Join the mayor and other community members at City Hall in downtown Syracuse for the raising of the Progress Flag over City Hall to celebrate Syracuse Pride in 2023 on June 3rd from 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus Concert

The Blue Skies and Rainbows pride concert, by the Syracuse Gay and Lesbian Chorus, will play two shows Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 at 7 p.m. Head to the May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Society, on E. Genesee St. in Syracuse, NY. Tickets are available online, through chorus members and at the door night of the show. 

CNY Pride Festival and Parade

The 2023 CNY Pride Festival will kick off on June 10th on Solar St. and continue all day with entertainment, food and drinks, and fun activities for all ages at the Syracuse Inner Harbor. The Pride Festival is an inclusive event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and allies. The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. and the festival runs from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Be sure to check out other Pride events to attend throughout the month in Syracuse.

CNY Gay 5k

Register for the CNY Gay 5k on June 17th, 2023 At Willow Bay at Onondaga Lake Park. The 2023 CNY Gay 5K is a colorful community-run, family-friendly event that celebrates our Central New York Community and raises funds for local LGBT non-profits. In 2022 they raised over $12,000 for SAGE Upstate. For this fun event, participants can run, walk, skip, or sashay all the way through the finish line. This year’s event will be held both in-person and virtually to appeal to all comfort levels. 

Pride Festival - Seneca Brew Street Pub

Head to Manulis, New York, Saturday June 17th and attend the family friendly Pride Fest at Seneca Brew Street Pub. This event is free to attend, family-friendly, accessible for all, and open to everyone! This will be an indoor/ outdoor event with face painting, balloon art, food trucks, drink specials and so much more. 

Pride Night at the Syracuse Mets 

Sponsored by the Syracuse Mets and Nissan, the Mets are celebrating the 8th annual Pride Night at NBT stadium versus The Scranton Rail Riders on June 29th. The game begins at 6:35 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans in the stadium will receive a pride flag while the first 500 fans will receive a Syracuse Mets pride jersey! Tickets can be bought today.
