The zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZ), meaning it must abide by the highest standards in animal care, education and visitor experience.

Tipperary Hill

"Tipp Hill" was settled by Irish Erie Canal workers and later Irish immigrants; cultural pride led to the world's only upside-down "Green-on-top" traffic light. The neighborhood features scenic parks, architecturally striking churches and, of course, the popular pubs, including Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub which sports a tiny leprechaun door to the right of the entrance.

The Great New York State Fair

Thrilling rides, games of chance, free concerts and a celebration of culture and agriculture - the New York Stake Fair has it all! The number one reason people come to the Fair: the food. Dozens of vendors, creative (often fried) dishes, a food truck competition and Taste NY highlight the best products made and grown in New York State. The Fair hosts special promotions each day and on opening day and Labor Day, admission is just $1. The Fair runs mid-August through early September.

Erie Canal Museum

This cool museum is housed in the last existing American Weighlock Building (circa 1850). Discover treasured artifacts, maps, interpretive and interactive displays and walk through a full-size replica canal boat with crew quarters, cargo and passenger areas.

The Landmark Theatre

Built in 1928 during the heyday of silent films, the Landmark retains much of its gilded grandeur and is listed on the United States Park Service National Register of historical Places. The theatre hosts top-level national musical and comedy acts as well as numerous Broadway touring shows. Due to COVID-19 the Landmark Theatre is not currently hosting any shows or visits.
