Hanover Thursdays

Visit Syracuse presents an August summer music series happening every Thursday of the month. This Thursday, August 11th head to Hanover for a free concert featuring the bands Sophistafunk and The Blacklites. The music starts at 5 pm and the party goes on until 9 pm.

 

 

 

 

 

 
The 5th Annual Smithfield Syracuse Bacon Festival 

Friday, August 12 & Saturday, August 13 from 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm In Clinton Square, The Smithfield Bacon Festival will feature dozens of vendors serving bacon-inspired treats. These vendors will be required to have items that contain bacon on their menus, such as bacon burgers, bacon mac n’ cheese, bacon-wrapped scallops, and bacon sundaes. Other Smithfield Bacon Festival attractions will include the non-stop music played by local musicians, an activity zone, wine slushies, ice-cold beer, and even a photo booth.

 

 

 
 
The 79th CNY Scottish Games and Celtic Festival

August 13th; Long Branch Park, Liverpool, NY- Every 2nd weekend in August, Central New York hosts a Highland Games, Pipe Band competition, and Celtic ethnic activities at the incredible venue of Long Branch Park on Onondaga Lake in Syracuse. Featuring family-friendly GAMES all day full of Competitions for Solo Piping, Drumming & Pipe Bands, Highland Dancing & Heavy Athletics. Children’s Games, entertainment, Celtic-themed vendors & food, clans & societies, harpers, Syracuse Irish Session, Massed Bands and so much more!
