What's Springing Up Around Town

Spring has sprung in Syracuse, and with it comes a fresh wave of reasons to explore the Salt City.

From brand new spots putting down roots to seasonal favorites making their return, there's never been a better time to discover everything Central New York has to offer. Whether this is your first visit or your hundredth, the city has something fresh waiting for you this season.

Five Iron Golf

Downtown Syracuse has a new anchor for date nights, team outings, and anyone who's ever wanted to play Pebble Beach without leaving the city. Five Iron Golf opened earlier this year, packing eight Trackman simulators, duckpin bowling, a full bar and kitchen, and professional coaching into 11,200 square feet of space. No membership required to join the fun — just book a simulator, grab something off the menu, and settle in. Leagues, lessons, and private events are also available. Reservations and membership details at fiveirongolf.com/syracuse.

Tea House by Cake Bar

From the owner of Cake Bar comes a new kind of slowdown. Tea House is dedicated to authentic Asian teas sourced directly from Vietnam, Japan, and China, served alongside Instagram-worthy desserts and a daily High Tea menu. The matcha alone is worth the visit — made to order, unhurried, and treated like the ritual it deserves to be. A genuine third space in downtown Syracuse.

Heat House

Opening May 2026, Heat House is bringing a new kind of warmth to the Inner Harbor. The studio will offer infrared heated pilates, sculpt, and yoga classes, giving both fitness regulars and curious newcomers a reason to work up a sweat with a view.

Wake up Coffee and Sandwich

Downtown's newest cafe is bringing something a little different to the morning routine. Wake Up serves authentic Vietnamese coffee alongside house-made bánh mì sandwiches, offering visitors a taste of something fresh, flavorful, and a little unexpected in the heart of Syracuse.

The Clerk’s House

Brought to you by the team behind the beloved Cider Mill, The Clerk's House is a charming new bakery set inside a restored 100-year-old cottage. Think freshly baked sourdough, cozy coffees, and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that makes a Saturday morning feel like it was made for you.

Cream & Coffee

Just a short drive from the city in Skaneteles, Cream and Coffee is an inviting space to enjoy homemade ice cream, locally sourced soft serve, baked goods, and a full espresso bar. Also open for the season is their sister-business The Ice Cream Stand, in Clinton Square.

The Syracuse Mets

It's officially baseball season at NBT Bank Stadium! The Syracuse Mets, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, are back on the field and ready to play ball. Grab a hot dog, find your seat, and soak in one of the best ways to spend a spring evening in the Salt City. Check syracusemets.com for the full schedule and tickets.

I love My Park Day

Looking to give back while you're in town? I Love My Park Day is an annual statewide event that brings thousands of volunteers together to beautify New York's state parks, historic sites, and public lands. It's a great way to connect with the community and spend some time outdoors. Find local opportunities and sign up at parks.ny.gov/get-involved/i-love-my-park-day.
