Contemporary Ikebana in Mixed Media — A Solo Exhibition by Jia Man
111 E. Onondaga Street Syracuse, New York 13202
Overview
Contemporary Ikebana in Mixed Media is a solo exhibition by Syracuse-based artist Jia Man. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, including ma, wabi-sabi, and mono no aware, Man creates temporary arrangements using flowers, branches, roots, petals, and stones. Through photography, light, and mixed-media interventions, these fragile forms become contemplative images exploring stillness, memory, impermanence, and the relationship between presence and absence. The exhibition includes audio descriptions for accessibility. The artworks are on view and available for purchase from September 12 through November 19, 2026, at Street Gallery NY / ArtHouse Syracuse, 111 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse, New York. This exhibition is supported by CNY Arts.
