Ice Skating

With three ice skating rinks operated by the City of Syracuse, there's no shortage of opportunities to glide across the ice this winter. Downtown, the Clinton Square Ice Rink offers an iconic outdoor skating experience in a historic setting. The season typically begins in late November and runs through early March, weather permitting, so it's always a good idea to call ahead at 315-423-0129. It's a favorite for families and visitors, but kids under 12 must have an adult guardian.

For a year-round skating option, head to the John Dunn Ice Rink at Meachem Field on the city’s South Side. This fully enclosed rink is a hub for local hockey teams, figure skaters, and public skating sessions. The Eastwood neighborhood’s Sunnycrest Ice Rink offers another indoor venue with a long season extending through March, providing a great community space for affordable fun. Admission across all rinks is budget-friendly, with $5 for adults, $3 for kids under 12 and seniors over 55, and $5 skate rentals, making it easy to lace up and enjoy the season.
