You don’t have to go far to find somewhere that matches your style. This is by no means an extensive list, but it will give you an idea of where to start. Downtown Syracuse 

Downtown is the heart of Syracuse, and the photo opportunities are endless! Do you love urban vibes and architecture? This is the spot for you! Walk around the districts of Armory Square, Clinton Square, or Hanover Square for historic buildings, brick alleyways, street art, and more. Get your photos taken in front of the MOST, by the Clinton Square fountain, or ice-skating rink depending on the season. Stroll down to Salt City Market and capure your love in front of with the heart in the stunning mural by Audra Linsner. 

 

Franklin Square Park 

Less than a mile away from downtown Syracuse is Franklin Square Park. This park is in the lakefront area of Syracuse, New York, complete with an arbor and fountain, a garden adorned with tulips, and brick buildings surrounding it. Explore the walkways for more tree-covered areas, bridges, and access to the Onondaga Creekwalk. It’s a popular photo location for special occasions at any time of the year.

Pro Tip: plan your engagement session in the spring for gorgeous flowering trees that line the streets! 

 

Green Lakes State Park 

In the eastern suburbs of Syracuse, Green Lakes State Park is home to two glacial lakes, hiking trails, and an upland forest. Explore the trails and beach, stop by the old administration building, and grab photos with the blue water behind you! This spot is beautiful no matter the season, but it’s incredibly stunning in the fall as the sunlight hits the changing leaves. Did you know that you can also get married here? It’s the perfect venue for any adventurous and outdoorsy couple!   

 

Skaneateles New York

The Village of Skaneateles, located 30 minutes west of Syracuse, has a picturesque downtown overlooking the shores of Skaneateles Lake in Clift Park. Stroll the streets, take pictures in front of the historic shops, or walk along the lake, stopping in front of the gazebo, pier, or Mid-Lakes Navigation boat that is docked on the shore in the warmer months. This is a great place for anyone looking for small-town charm! 

 

Upper Onondaga Park 

Located in the southern neighborhood of Strathmore, Upper Onondaga Park is a gem when it comes to photo spots. With majestic willow trees, a stone bridge, and a gazebo on the water, what more can you ask for? You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale as you wander the park and take pictures. There is also an excellent view of Syracuse at the highest point in the park if you’re interested in the city as a backdrop!
