Looking to pick some pumpkins or apples, drink some cider, try out a hayride, and pet some farm animals all in one spot? Then read on for our list of family-friendly fall festivals and other fun farm spots.
Occurring every Saturday, Sunday and Columbus Day until October 31st. Enjoy apple picking, visit the farm animals and check out the wagon rides, corn maze, apple cannon, tube slides and face painting. Take home some fresh baked goods from the bakery or grab some apple fritters to enjoy on-site. Adults can enjoy a tasting of their hard ciders, produced from apples and fruits grown right on-site.
Running daily from mid-September until the end of October, this celebration of all things fall offers apple and pumpkin picking, wagon rides, a corn maze, cider making demonstrations, playgrounds, an animal area and a cow train (weekends only). Enjoy a hard cider or beer in their tasting room and a bite to eat from the café. Entertainment, live music and other special events vary by weekend. Tickets are required and can be purchased on their website.
This family fall fest runs from Saturday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 17th. While many activities are open daily throughout the week, like the petting zoo and straw maze, there are additional activities held on the weekends including magical demonstrations and obstacle course bounce houses. Check their calendar for which weekend your favorite food truck is stopping and other special activities.
In its 48th year, this annual festival includes music, rides, ponies, over 500 craft vendors and all your favorite apple treats! Check out the annual pie eating contest then move on to something for yourself with all your favorite treats like apple pies, dumplings, turnovers and cider donuts. Non-apple food items are also available. Don’t miss the Cider Mill while on the grounds, offering a hands-on experience for youngsters to press apples on an antique cider press. Apple Fest runs Saturday, October 9th and Sunday, October 10th.
October 29th and 30th the Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department will be showing a free screening of the animated version of The Addams Family at Burnet Park. Kid activities start at 6pm and the movie will begin at 7pm.
Head out to Green Lakes State Park on Saturday, October 24th from 6:30 - 8:30pm for a drive-through of spooky scenes around the campground. Entrance to the event is donation of a non-perishable food item for the Central NY Food Bank.
This popular daytime family event turns the Rosamond Gifford Zoo into a kid-friendly haunt with trick-or-treat stations, animal encounters, games, activities and photo-ops. Wear your costume and make sure to bring your treat bag.
This drive-thru Halloween event brings you past festive themed displays like Witches Way, the Pumpkin Patch, Creepy Castle and more! Each section includes large structures with LED light displays and more. This Halloween experience takes from place October 1st - 31st at Jamesville Beach Park from 7 - 10pm. Vehicle passes can be purchased online and must be bought in advance.
